Increasing adsense revenue from your existing website involves some readjustments and you will see increase in revenue with same amount of traffic on your website. Some important tips and tricks are given here to increase click through rate.

1. Design of your website - If you're starting afresh designing a site specifically for AdSense revenue, you'll want a simple design that makes it easy to paste Google's code into a horizontal or vertical space on the site. To increase your click-throughs, your website design should be simple, uncluttered page with the AdSense ads displayed prominently. Use white space, so that the AdSense panel catches the eye.

2. Increasing Impressions aka Increasing web traffic - Basically the impressions are the number of times your web pages with Adsense ads have been viewed. So it is directly proportional to the number or visitors to your web site. So, you can increase Impressions by increasing traffic to your web site. Remember traffic is the biggest factor to increase your adsense revenue, your first effort should be towards increase traffic, and if you have descent traffic, then you can manipulate and experiment on other things to increase CTR.

3. Stick to only one topic per page - that makes it easier for Google to serve up highly relevant ads on your pages. This will bring ads of top advertisers on your website, who enable the "phrase match" and "exact match" feature of the Google Adwords and bid for top position in Google Adwords. This will earn you more money per click.

4. Customize your AdSense ads - Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. 7. Always put google search engine on every page of your web page. Let that search engine pay you ! If your pages has more hyperlinks, chances of clicking on the adsense ads will decrease. I have even seen sites having no hyperlink on pages and if the visitor wants to click, google ads are only choice for him. So keep the hyperlink to bare minimum.

10. Put max permissible ads on a page, i.e., 3 ad units, 1 search box and 1 link unit. More ads per page will increase probability of ads being clicked.

11. Don't cheat. Do not click on the ads displayed on your own site to increase your revenue. This a sure shot way to get fired from google adsense program. Google (rightfully) frowns on this. Plus, Google has some of the smartest engineers around, and they are very good at detecting this kind of fraud. If you cheat, you'll likely get kicked out of the AdSense program -- and then you won't earn anything. Stick to Google's rules ! Read them very well, single rule violation will see you out of adsense program. You WILL have your account suspended if you don't play fair.

12. Take the time to set different channels in your AdSense prefs. These are part of the tracking system and without them all your clicks will show as one. If you use multiple sites this is essential so you know where the clicks are coming from.

13. If Google doesn't have an Ad for the content of your page they will show a public-service ad. You can overwrite this and specify an ad of your own to show. You could, for example, use an Affiliate Link. Scripts exist to replace a public-service ad with other options, such as Clickbank Ads.

14. You can refer other people to join the AdSense program, and when they do you will earn $100 as soon as they do. There are buttons you can use from your AdSense account but Google won't provide you with a straight link.
