Blog - Introduction
Today people all over the world are blogging. CEOs, doctors, lawyers, journalists, chefs, florists, school students, mothers. It's too simple.
The best part about blogs is that anyone can make one. Blogging requires very little or no knowledge of HTML or designing. If you can a paragraph, you can blog. Blogging gives this freedom. It does not need navigation architecture designs of a website nor a structured menu. You write and get printed - as simple as that. People are using them to communicate with family, for education, for business, and almost anything else you can think of.
According to Wikipedia, a blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a
reverse chronological order.
Blog, a short form for weblog, is a personal journal that is frequently updated and intended for general
public consumption. A blog is a way for people to share what they are thinking and what's on their mind. It's a public
way of speaking over the internet. It can be business or personal.
The essential characteristics of the blog are its journal form, typically a new entry each day, and its informal style.
Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in chronological order with the most recent additions featured most
prominently.
A person’s Web log is almost like an open diary. It chronicles what a person wants to share with the world on an almost
daily basis. Blog generally represent the personality of the author. So, a blog is basically a online personal journal
that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger."
People can also add comments to Blogs. Have fun with it.
In sharp contrast with regular sites, blogs are like a whiff of fresh air in the stagnant world of web contents. Corporates and people publish blogs for different reasons, but some use of blog are;
1. Blogs are probably the easiest way to have a website.
2. Create your own personal blog. Let the world know what you think. Empty the contents of your head.
3. Providing articles and links to useful resources for people interested in a specific topic.
4. Keeping family and friends up to date on what’s happening in your life.
5. Posting announcements to supplement an existing website.
6. Publishing news announcements and press releases.
7. Blogs are an excellent way of sharing knowledge on specific topic.
8. Blogs can be a positive way of getting feedback, keeping your finger on the pulse of your blog readers.
9. Promoting your website, business, product, etc.
